Living-Learning Residential Community

DHN is part of the Agriculture Residential College, a unique opportunity for students in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment to live and learn together. Students in the AgRC will learn about the value and impact agriculture, food and the environment have on the foundation of our civilization. In addition, through programs, field trips, and faculty interaction both inside and outside of the classroom, students will explore the various careers related to their majors.

    • Current Students - Mentor Application: Live in community and develop your leadership skills as a peer mentor.

Travel to Conferences

We support students attending conferences and summits. The Universities Fighting World Hunger 12th Annual Hunger Summit and Food Waste and Hunger Summit is an exciting 2-day event bringing together interdisciplinary collaborations from university students, anti-hunger advocates, and intriguing speakers and food justice activists.  This year, we sent 12 students and staff to the summit ishosted by Walsh University from March 24-25, 2017.  

Study Abroad

Our students also have opportunities to study abroad in Ghana, Australia, and Italy. Learn about the programs available.  

Student Organizations

DHN directly supports FOUR student-led organizations on-campus including the Student Dietetic and Nutrition Association, Phi Upsilon Omicron, the Campus Kitchen at the University of Kentucky, and SSTOP Hunger: Sustainable Solutions to Overcome Poverty.
